This 100% cotton crochet market tote and fun everyday bag is fun, functional and eco-friendly for your daily needs this summer!

It is crocheted using a smaller hook for a tight weave and detailed stitches.

The solid base is made in dark olive green yarn, working in rounds of double crochet stitches with increases each round until it is the desired width. A bold stripe of bright lime green "rind" is added in single crochet stitches. Then I made the juicy watermelon "flesh" in rich red and worked a small and dainty mesh squares in double crochet/chain pattern for the body of the bag.

When the bag reached the desired length, another "rind" was worked in the lime green. The top border and straps are created in the dark olive green in single crochet stitches.
