I decided to make these mini hat keychains to be able to not only physically stand against the injustices that are occurring, but to also financially stand against the brutal actions of ICE.

I donate 50% of my profits from every mini hat sold. I send the money to immigration aid agencies that support families with young children affected by ICE. I am a mom--helping young children is a Must-Do for me. You are not only supporting my shop, but you are supporting many families with children in their time of need. I send the funds weekly, on Saturdays.

The mini hats come in two colors, bold red and a deep burgundy, as well as two clasp choices. You choose your color and the clasp or ring at checkout. You are welcome to get different color/clasp combinations on a single order.

The mini hats are made using 100% cotton lightweight yarn. They are crocheted with a tiny hook "in the round" which creates a solid piece that holds its shape of a tiny hat. The single crochet stitches make a unique texture on the hat. The hat is started at the top and gradually increases each round until it is the proper size, then several rounds single crochet in each stitch. I attach the key ring or latch clasp as I finish with the increase rounds at the top center of the hat.

When the hat is the correct length, I do a row of Back Loop Only to create a crease in the stitches. That is where the brim on the hat folds up. I attach the brim to the hat body on the final round.

The last step is to braid the tassel, attaching it to the center of the top of the hat, at the joining of the ring or clasp.
