Behind the Product
This bag makes sustainability cute and fun! The bag and straps are made from 100% cotton medium weight yarn and is currently available in two beautiful colors: deep black for a stunning contrast and creamy beige for a soft, subtle contrast. More color options are available upon request!
I make the bag in several steps.
The first step is to make the sunflower motif. I use the popular Sunburst Motif in sunflower colors. The center rounds are a warm milk chocolate brown, followed by a rich, dark rust. The final round is a beautiful, variegated yarn that is shades of soft yellow. I love this design because last round of the sunflower motif is crocheted using the popcorn stitch, which is slightly raised, giving a 3D affect for a gorgeous bag. Bold colors in the sunflower bring spring and sunshine wherever you go! After the flower is made, I finish the front panel of the bag in the main color.
A back panel is made in the main color by creating a simple granny square pattern in the same size. I weave in all the ends and tidy up the two panels.
I hand sew the cotton fabric lining to each bag panel. I lay out my panels and measure the fabric to fit. The edge of the fabric is folded under and then I use a whip stitch to sew the fabric securely to the crocheted square. The fabric color and print design for your bag may vary from the pictures.
I then create the strap as a long circular loop that becomes the sides and bottom of the bag at the same time. I do it this way so there are no seams or spots of weakness in the handle strap. No seams also mean there is nothing to rub or irritate your skin as the bag hangs from your shoulder.
When the strap and sides/base are the correct width, I hand sew the edges of the bagto secure the panels to the strap.
Last, I crochet the scallop top edge to finish the bag.
The extra-long strap can be worn as a crossbody satchel or as over-the-shoulder purse.
It is the perfect size for teens and tweens and adults too. It easily fits your phone, wallet and keys for all your daily adventures. It is cute, sassy and just right for daily use.

The bag is cute and easy to use.
It can be worn on your shoulder as a cute purse or crossbody like a satchel. If I am making this bag for a younger tween or child, I can customize the length of the strap to match their height. Simply message me the correct length you want and I will get your custom bag made for you.
The bag and strap are made from 100% cotton medium weight yarn.
The handsewn lining is 100% cotton broadcloth.
The entire bag is crocheted by hand with durability, style and solid construction in mind.
Handwash the bag in warm water, using a mild detergent.
Rinse well in cool water. I recommend rinsing 2-3 times to ensure all soap has been removed.
Lay flat on a towel to air dry.
Avoid twisting or wringing the wet bag.
Do not bleach and avoid high heat.
