How To Use:

To wear the coat:

Carefully slip the neckhole opening over your dogs head, being mindful that is right-side up. You will slip on over the dog's head and let the coat rest on the collar. Push your hand through the armhole and gently grasp the corresponding front leg and pull it through the opening. Repeat for the other front leg. Adjust the coat to lay along the dogs back and carefully stretch the coat to remove any wrinkles that may rub as the doggo moves. Attach your leash to the collar, utilizing the opening for that purpose or turn your doggosaur loose in the yard to romp!

To remove the coat:

Undo the leash. Gently pull the coat up to the front legs. Carefully guide one front leg out of the hole and then repeat for the second leg. Slide the coat off over the head.

What it's made of:

The coat is crocheted completely using acrylic medium weight yarn. This yarn comes in about one million color options so you can choose any color that moves you for your pets' coat.

I used a small amount of polyester Poly-Fil in the spikes to help them maintain their shape.

The coat is made using combinations of chain stitch, single crochet stitch, double crochet stitch, double crochet increases and double crochet decreases.

The entire process is made by my hands.

Storage and Care:

Gently fold and store out of direct sunlight. I store mine in a small Rubbermaid box by the back door that contains all my dog supplies.

This coat can be machine washed yay! Place the coat inside a mesh laundry washing bag designed for delicate items OR you can place inside a pillowcase and tie the end closed. Wash using delicate cycle (Washing inside a bag will prevent the coat from snagging on machine apparatus and will help minimize stretching in the spin cycle) Lay flat on a towel to air dry.

The spikes begin larger near the neck and gradually decrease in size toward the tail, creating an unmistakable Doggo-saur silhouette.

The crocheted body of the coat offers 2″-3″ of ease for comfortable movement. This is a natural stretching provided from the stitches used.

The number of spikes may vary depending on your preference and the finished coat size.

Because each sweater is crocheted after you order, slight pattern modifications may be possible, including:

Longer or shorter body length
Longer or shorter overall length
Wider or narrower neck cuff
Other minor fit adjustments when appropriate
Each Doggo-Saur coat is made to measure based on your pup. Please ask any and all questions!

I will reach out for your pets’ measurements after purchase. You will need a flexible measuring tape. We will work together to create the best possible fit for your furbaby.

Measurement Guide

Neck: Measure around your dog’s neck where the collar normally sits OR the length of its collar.

Chest: Measure around the widest part of the torso, directly behind the front legs. I need the body circumference of the ribcage and chest cavity.

Body Length: Measure from collar down between the front legs and underbelly, to where the ribcage ends and the body begins to taper and narrow. This will determine how long the closed portion of the coat is on the belly.

Overall Length: The complete front-to-back length of the finished coat, from the collar to tail base. The coat will end a few inches before the tail, unless specifically requested to make it longer.

**These are the basic pattern measurements for each size. I can modify the pattern dimensions to fit your dog, but these are good guidelines for determining which size to order.

Small Dog Size: Neck-13″, Chest-18″, Body Length-8″, Overall Length-14.5″

Medium Dog Size: Neck-16″, Chest-20″, Body Length-12″, Overall Length-18″

Large Dog Size: Neck-18″, Chest-24″, Body Length-14″, Overall Length-20″

X-Large Dog Size: Neck-20″, Chest-26″, Body Length-16″, Overall Length-22″

Accurate measurements are especially important because every dog has a unique shape and build.

If your furbaby has long fur, such as a husky or pomeranian, I suggest sizing up for best comfort for your dog.
