  1. Each Botanical Portrait is an individually crafted piece of wearable art made from tiny strips of quilled paper. I use a pixelated, pointillistic approach to quilling, building the image from many small paper elements rather than traditional drawn or painted marks. Additional quilled paper creates the frame around the botanical image, and the finished piece is sealed with a clear resin glaze that adds depth, shine, and protection to the paper surface.

The resin glaze helps protect the finished piece from incidental moisture, but this is still paper-based artwork and should not be considered waterproof. Please remove before showering, swimming, bathing, or prolonged exposure to water. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight and excessive heat, and store carefully when not being worn. Because each portrait is handmade individually, small variations in color, shape, texture, and paper placement are part of its character.

The sunflower carries meanings of loyalty, faith, commitment, abundance, optimism, and resilience. Its characteristic upward-reaching form also suggests aspiration, clarity, spiritual awakening, and the desire to reach toward higher heights.

There is something wonderfully direct about the sunflower as a symbol: stay rooted, keep reaching, and don’t lose sight of what matters.

That idea resonates with my own creative journey: after periods when creativity has been quiet or interrupted, I’ve come to think of renewal not as starting over, but as turning again toward something that has been there all along.

The sunflower can represent a new chapter, renewed faith in yourself, commitment to your values, or simply the decision to remain open to possibility. Its association with abundance can also serve as a reminder that growth takes many forms; creative, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and personal.

Wear this Botanical Portrait as your own symbol of faith, commitment, resilience, creative renewal, abundance, clarity, or reaching toward a higher version of what is possible.

Sunflower symbolism: loyalty · faith · commitment · abundance · optimism · resilience · spiritual awakening · clarity · aspiration
