Botanical Portrait – Sunflower, Golden Yellow, Round, 2″ diameter

$38.00

Each Botanical Portrait is an individually crafted piece of wearable art made from tiny strips of quilled paper. I use a pixelated, pointillistic approach to quilling, building the image from many small paper elements rather than traditional drawn or painted marks. Additional quilled paper creates the frame around the botanical image, and the finished piece is sealed with a clear resin glaze that adds depth, shine, and protection to the paper surface.

The resin glaze helps protect the finished piece from incidental moisture, but this is still paper-based artwork and should not be considered waterproof. Please remove before showering, swimming, bathing, or prolonged exposure to water. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight and excessive heat, and store carefully when not being worn. Because each portrait is handmade individually, small variations in color, shape, texture, and paper placement are part of its character.

The sunflower is a symbol of loyalty, faith, commitment to one’s values, abundance, optimism, and resilience. Its radiant face and upward-reaching form also lend themselves beautifully to ideas of spiritual awakening, clarity, aspiration, and reaching toward higher heights.

I love the sunflower as a reminder to remain oriented toward what gives us light. For me, it speaks to staying connected to what matters, continuing to grow through change, and having faith in the possibility of what comes next.

The sunflower’s association with abundance can mean more than material prosperity; it can represent the abundance found in creativity, generosity, possibility, and the willingness to keep growing.

This symbolism has personal meaning for me as I continue to renew and expand my own creative life. Sometimes resilience isn’t about returning to exactly who we were before; sometimes it means taking what we’ve learned, turning toward the light, and allowing ourselves to grow into something new.

Wear this Botanical Portrait as your own reminder of optimism, loyalty, resilience, abundance, spiritual awakening, clarity, or the courage to keep reaching toward higher heights.
